Continental Divide, New Mexico

The villiage of Continental Divide is at exit 47, Interstate 40 in New Mexico. It is also the place where the Continental Divide–that geographical feature where water either flows east or west on the North American continent–passes through. Actually, the Continental Divide was here first, long before roads were built, long before human beings gathered and hunted, perhaps long before the time of the dinosaurs, for their skeletal remains are abundant in this area.

So we erect a sign to symbolize its place and significance.–DBrent
