A Conversation with Steve Williams, Scooter in the Sticks

by D. Brent Miller

If you are not aware of the web site, Motorcycle Bloggers International, you should take a look. MBI is a collection of riders who write about their two-wheeled travel adventures. Recently, MBI held it’s 2007 Awards. Winning the Best Motorcycle Blog for writing and photography is Steve Williams who produces Scooter in the Sticks.

Steve Williams lives and rides in central Pennsylvania. He is a father, husband, friend, photographer, and a teacher and project manager of communications and marketing technology at a Pennsylvania university. He brings all these skills and talents together for Scooter in the Sticks.

Steve’s ramblings through the Pennsylvania countryside are a delight to read, and his thoughts on motorcycling and scooting safety are instructional.

    Brent,
Another excellent “conversation.”! Loved it! I was really impressed with Steve’s writing and shooting process.
Another similarity betw Miller/Sojournerrides: Ilford b&w film! I used to shoot it exclusively in my Olympus OM-1 SLR cameras. Just shot a role of it this past weekend for the first time in about 15 years!

Sharon, the world seems to be just getting smaller and smaller. Lately, I have been thinking about going back to B&W film for some of my fine art. I can process the film, then scan it (when I get a new scanner) and then print digitally. Film looks different than digital–more rich. I shoot with Ilford PanF+ and HP5+. This will give me a great excuse to get the Hasselblad out of the closet. Take a look at Dave Beckerman Photography, http://www.davebeckerman.com in New York. He went from film to digital and back to film. –DBrent

P.S. Stay tuned for some more great conversations.
