Ohio River Paddlefest 2007

by D. Brent Miller

The organizers and participants of 2007 Paddlefest on the Ohio River couldn’t have asked for better weather. Hot and sunny make a great mix for putting in the canoe or kayak, and that’s what about 1,500 did on Saturday morning.

Some came with their own boats and equipment, and many came hoping to grab one of the many rentals available. Slowly, they made their way into the Four Seasons Marina, unloaded and ventured down the boat launch to enter the Ohio River system. There, at the mouth of the marina to the river, hundreds of paddlers waited for the start of the “2,000 Paddles” float trip to downtown Cincinnati, about 8 miles away.–DBrent

    Hi Brent,

Thanks so much for sharing these shots. They are great! Do you have more of folks paddling on the Ohio? Or of our Finish Line Festival? If so, we would love to have a link from our site to yours.

    With appreciation,

    Brewster Rhoads, Paddlefest Chair

Brewster, Unfortunately, due to my schedule, I was only able to photograph the launch area. I did not publish all photos, only the better ones and no duplicates. Glad you liked the photos.–DBrent

Found your blog searching for Ohio bloggers–am planning to move to the area this summer and am hoping to “meet” a few people before then. Love looking at your pics!! As a kayaker, the Ohio River Paddlefest looks like something I definitely need to check out!!!
