New computer, learning curve begins

Just a quick post to keep you informed. This morning, I learned that my faithful laptop indeed did have a hardware malfunction. The LCD monitor is failing. The cost to repair: up to $400. Solution: new HP laptop with lots of bells, whistles and speed!

But … this new computer comes with Vista. It’s different. Stay tuned. I am relearning a few things. Vista seems to be designed for ease of use–intuitive–for people who don’t know how to format a drive. So, I may have to go to the library and borrow a book: Vista for Dummies.–DBrent

Vista IS different, but after a day or two you’ll feel right at home. The visual and audible upgrades alone almost justify the 1024 MB minimum memory requirements. Although I find the security warnings get a little annoying after a while…

    Enjoy!

Doug, I’m catching on. The constant security warnings are a little annoying, which makes that Mac vs. PC commercial more realistic and funny. I splurged on 3 gigs of RAM and a 250 gig hard drive! That should do it for a while.

So … now I have a new computer and a new bike. I need to get back to work by producing more meaningful posts!–DBrent
