Lin and I had hoped to do more of this, but we only walked on the shore line on Tuesday afternoon. That was the best day of weather, and still it was very windy. VERY WINDY.

Lin is the best traveling companion. We travel very well together. Of course, that’s just another adjective to add to the list of best friend, companion, lover, confidant, spouse and soul mate.

With a kitchenette in the room, Lin and I wanted to fix a meal or two “at home.” Mostly, this would be breakfast or snacks. We took a cooler full of beverages and yogurts. We bought strawberries, bagels and creamed cheese, and we were pretty much set. We also brought microwave popcorn for snacks.

We started looking early for where we might stay in Florida. We had only one criteria: it had to be on the beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. We researched the cottages, B&Bs and motels of Destin and Fort Myers area, and also the resorts of Panama City/Panama City Beach.
