As a journalist, I present news, information and commentary. As a photojournalist, I try to capture the essence of a story in a single image, a photo essay, or even a documentary project.

But, I have found, there are other stories to tell–something unexpected or learned in the daily path of life. Sometimes during a walk with a best friend or over a cup of coffee in a group discussion. Sometimes we learn something driving down an interstate highway. Sometimes … it is on a motorcycle leaning into the corner of a two-laned twisty road.

Presented here is a journal of one person’s observations, a collection of travel writing, essays and photography, Sojourn Chronicles: a travelogue for life … sometimes on a motorcycle.–DBrent
